BOLIVIA 50 AÑOS DICTADURA BANZER PARTE 2: ¿DÓNDE ESTÁ LA PERIODISTA DE “LOS TIEMPOS” Y “CRÓNICA” LESLIE ANDREUZZI?

1. Leslie Magdalena Andreuzzi Vaca Díez era madre de dos hijos, periodista de Radio Piraí y de los diarios “Crónica” (Santa Cruz) y “Los Tiempos” (Cochabamba). Fue detenida, torturada y vejada masivamente, en cárceles policiales y militares de Santa Cruz y La Paz, fusilada y desaparecida hace 50 años. Algunos quieren borrar su huella e inclusive la memoria. ¿Qué pasó? ¿Dónde está Leslie? Intentemos responder, basados en el estatal “Informe Comisión Verdad Bolivia”, el libro “Libres” (2013) e indagación personal inicial.
2. Leslie nació en Santa Cruz de la Sierra el 18 de julio 1943. En el Golpe de Estado de Hugo Banzer en 1971, tenía 28 años y vivía en calle Bolívar, a una cuadra de plaza 24 de septiembre. Tiene dos hijos.
3. Sus padres eran Luisa Vaca Díez Peña y Simón Andreuzzi D, su tío Alberto Abudinen. Sus suegros: Rafael Barreto G y Ludmila Guzmán. Se casó con Leandro Rafael Barreto Guzmán en Camiri el 19 de octubre de 1968. Su hija Suely tenía dos años cuando Leslie fue fusilada.
4. El 19 de agosto 1971 en plaza 24 septiembre Leslie hacía cobertura de la marcha de exaltados golpistas con camisas pardas y blancas, encabezados por Carlos Valverde Barberí y la arenga del pro nazi Cnl Andréz Selich: “¡No quiero presos ni heridos. Todos muertos!”. La periodista fue detenida junto a otras personas en la Universidad René Moreno convertida en cárcel de 200 presos; de allí fue llevada a la 8va División (calle Charcas esq Puerto Pacheco) donde por orden de oficiales, fue violada por 100 soldados y, tuvo que ser llevada de urgencia a la Comisaría El Pari de Av Grigotá (La Ramada) y luego al DOP actual edificio Brigada Parlamentaria en Manzana Uno. Allí, Roger Tuero se enteró de lo ocurrido y habló con Leslie. Luego fue llevada a La Paz en avión junto con 8 presos. Ledy Catoira se enteró de las torturas cuando fue detenida en la 8va División. Ese día 19, salvaron la vida: Humberto Mur, Jorge Selum Vaca Díez, Julio Jorge Nelson, Carlos Salvatierra, Vicente Quevedo, Antonio Aguilera, Luis Mazzone y Jorge Rodríguez, Ciro Menacho, Alejandro Pérez, Dardo Suárez, Roger Tuero, Herman Vaca y Napoleón Aguilera.
5. En el Aeropuerto FAB El Alto Leslie fue separada del grupo de presos. Un oficial de apellido Reque Terán la llevó al DOP La Paz del Ministerio del Interior donde fue torturada varios días. Le arrancaron cabellos, le fracturaron clavícula y hombros con culata de fusil, hasta que fue llevada al Regimiento Bolívar 2 de Artillería Viacha, donde el 13 de septiembre 1971 a horas 04:00 fue fusilada. Desde entonces está desparecida.
6. Los hijos de Leslie, días antes del golpe fueron llevados por su abuela Luisa a Villamontes. Suely tenía 5 años y vivían frente al cuartel. Una mañana, se les cruzó un auto, dos personas, uno civil y otro militar le arrancan a su hermano de 3 años que estaba en brazos de abuela; Suely se soltó, corrió y fue a buscar a sus tíos. Al día siguiente la abuela los sacó del país. Vivieron 10 años en distintos lugares y con otros nombres como “Bárbara Jerzum”. En La Quiaca (Argentina) cuando Suely tenía 12 años (1981) fue a casa de su mamá adoptiva, y allí se alojó un señor que se hizo amigo de su papá de corazón, y le dijo a la señora que trabajaba, que iba a matar a Suely, y si ella hablaba le cortaría el cuello. Ese señor descubrió dónde estaba, buscaba documentos e información. A su hermano no pudieron hallarlo.
7. El año 2004, en el juicio de José Carlos Trujillo hubo un altercado entre la hija de Leslie con familia de los torturadores procesados. El hijo de Oscar Menacho amenazó con matarla. A los pocos meses, una noche al llegar Suely a casa, frente a la VIII División (calle Charcas y Puerto Pacheco) antes de abrir la reja pasó un auto y desde ahí dispararon. El año 2016 en Santa Cruz, dos personas: “Paye” Gonzales y un Sr Durán se contactaron y se reunieron con Suely en el café que hoy es “Pascana” (plaza 24 septiembre) a horas 10:00 am y pidieron dinero para decir qué pasó con Leslie, y que firme desistimiento porque era testigo en el juicio a los torturadores, o que testifique en su favor. Pedían $us.12 mil y dijeron que tenían información y contactos.
8. Los responsables directos de esta bajeza humana y aberración estatal gubernamental son militares: Presidente, ministros, comandantes de Regimientos (Rangers-Montero, Bolívar-Viacha), oficiales y suboficiales: Hugo Bánzer, Andrés Selich Shopp, Mario Adett Zamora, Oficial Reque Terán, Rafael Loayza Villegas, Mario Mena, Arturo Doria Medina, Raúl Álvarez Peñaranda, Juan Ayoroa, Carlos Alcoreza, Luís Gonzales Avendaño, Walter Castro Avendaño, Guido Benavídez, otros. Civiles: Mario Gutiérrez, Alfredo Arce Carpio, Sergio Leigue Suarez (ministros), Widen Razuk (Prefecto). Policías: Alfredo Pinto. Nazis: Klaus Barbie y los “Novios de la muerte”.
9. Otros que deben ser juzgados son los paramilitares, guardaespaldas, jefes de comisaría, soplones o “tiras”, torturadores instruidos por “Novios de la Muerte” (ex nazis) que se juntaban en el bar “Bavaria” de Santa Cruz: Carlos Valverde B, Widen Razuk, Pedro Percy “Paye” Gonzales Monasterio y Ernesto Morant Lijerón (jefes Comisaría El Pari), Jorge Chávez, Addy Curi, Freddy Mercado, Profesor N. Paniagua, Hernán “Negro” Cronembold Parada, N Leigue Gutiérrez, Mario Fernández, hermanos Flores Salvador, Hugo y Guillermo Menacho Carrillo, Oswaldo Parada, Oscar Román Vaca, Freddy Terrazas (médico que fusilaba pacientes), Juan Antonio Elío, Pedro Rivera (jefe MNR), Arnoldo Justiniano, Carlos “Michi” Correa Villarroel (matón en Montero), Guido y Gary Alarcón, Jorge “Coco” Balvián, “Danger” Salamanca, Daniel “Damy” Cuentas Valenzuela, “Papi” Alvarez, Ernesto Limpias, otros.
10. ¿Conclusiones?
a) Los militares de tendencia nazi (Bánzer, Selich, y sus cómplices) ufanaron su crueldad y están impunes. Muchos de ellos quieren eliminar toda huella de delito, y borrar esos hechos de la memoria colectiva. Leslie no existe en la historia. Es hora de reivindicarla como persona, periodista y madre. Si los 4 órganos del Estado hacen nada, aquí nos encargaremos.
b) La violación masiva a Leslie (100 soldados) en la 8va División de Ejército tiene responsables: Oficiales militares, comandantes, jefes de Estado Mayor, suboficiales. Cada cual con nombre y apellido. Eso debe investigarse, juzgarse y establecer responsabilidad pertinente.
c) Algunos represores aún están vivos. Es el caso de Pedro Percy “Paye” Gonzales Monasterio, experto en “trabajo sucio” y en dilatar procesos judiciales, amigo de Alberto Guzmán Méndez y otros jueces. Vive cerca del edificio CIDOB en Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
d) ¿Qué debieran hacer los 4 órganos del Estado? Legislativo: Fiscalizar de cumplimiento de la Ley 2640 de Resarcimiento Integral mediante sus comisiones de Derechos Humanos. Ejecutivo-Gobierno: Cumplir con el resarcimiento a 8.000 víctimas de las dictaduras por medio del Ministerio de (in)Justicia. Judicial y Fiscalía: Tomar iniciativas e iniciar procesos penales (y de Repetición). Electoral: Rescatar el aporte de las víctimas a la democracia e impulsar consciencia social a través del SIFDE.
e) Aquí escribimos con fundamento y fuente. Todo criterio es rescatable si es respetuoso.

BOLIVIA 50 YEARS BANZER DICTATORSHIP PART 2: WHERE IS THE JOURNALIST OF “LOS TIEMPOS” AND “CRÓNICA” LESLIE ANDREUZZI?

1. Leslie Magdalena Andreuzzi Vaca Díez was the mother of two children, a journalist for Radio Piraí and for the newspapers “Crónica” (Santa Cruz) and “Los Tiempos” (Cochabamba). She was detained, tortured and harassed on a massive scale, in police and military prisons in Santa Cruz and La Paz, shot and disappeared 50 years ago. Some want to erase their footprint and even memory. What happened? Where's Leslie? Let us try to answer, based on the state “Report Truth Commission Bolivia”, the book “Libres” (2013) and initial personal inquiry.
2. Leslie was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra on July 18, 1943. During Hugo Banzer's coup in 1971, she was 28 years old and lived on Bolívar Street, one block from September 24 Square. Has two children.
3. His parents were Luisa Vaca Díez Peña and Simón Andreuzzi D, his uncle Alberto Abudinen. His in-laws: Rafael Barreto G and Ludmila Guzmán. She married Leandro Rafael Barreto Guzmán in Camiri on October 19, 1968. Their daughter Suely was two years old when Leslie was shot.
4. On August 19, 1971 in the square September 24, Leslie covered the march of exalted coup plotters in brown and white shirts, led by Carlos Valverde Barberí and the harangue of the pro-Nazi Cnl Andréz Selich: “I don't want prisoners or wounded. All dead!". The journalist was detained along with other people at the René Moreno University, converted into a jail for 200 prisoners; From there she was taken to the 8th Division (street Charcas and Puerto Pacheco) where, by order of officers, she was raped by 100 soldiers and had to be taken urgently to the El Pari Police Station in Av Grigotá (La Ramada) and then to the DOP current Parliamentary Brigade building in Manzana Uno. There, Roger Tuero found out what happened and spoke with Leslie. Then she was taken to La Paz by plane along with 8 prisoners. Ledy Catoira learned of the torture when she was detained in the 8th Division. On the 19th, their lives were saved: Humberto Mur, Jorge Selum Vaca Díez, Julio Jorge Nelson, Carlos Salvatierra, Vicente Quevedo, Antonio Aguilera, Luis Mazzone and Jorge Rodríguez, Ciro Menacho, Alejandro Pérez, Dardo Suárez, Roger Tuero, Herman Vaca and Napoleon Aguilera.
5. At the FAB El Alto Airport Leslie was separated from the group of prisoners. An officer named Reque Terán took her to the La Paz PDO of the Ministry of the Interior where she was tortured for several days. They pulled her hair, fractured her clavicle and shoulders with a rifle butt, until she was taken to the Bolívar 2 Regiment of Viacha Artillery, where on September 13, 1971 at 04:00 hours she was shot. Since then she has disappeared.
6. Leslie's children, days before the coup, were taken by their grandmother Luisa to Villamontes. Suely was 5 years old and they lived in front of the barracks. One morning, a car ran into them, two people, one civilian and one military, took away their 3-year-old brother who was in the arms of his grandmother; Suely broke loose, ran, and went to find her uncles. The next day their grandmother took them out of the country. They lived 10 years in different places and with other names like "Bárbara Jerzum". In La Quiaca (Argentina) when Suely was 12 years old (1981), she went to her adoptive mother's house, and there a man stayed who became a friend of her father from the heart, and told the woman who worked that he was going to kill Suely, and if she spoke she would cut her throat. That man discovered where he was, he was looking for documents and information. They couldn't find his brother.
7. In 2004, in the trial of José Carlos Trujillo, there was an altercation between Leslie's daughter and the family of the accused torturers. Oscar Menacho's son threatened to kill her. A few months later, one night when Suely got home, in front of the VIII Division (Charcas Street and Puerto Pacheco), before opening the gate, a car passed by and from there they fired. In 2016 in Santa Cruz, two people: “Paye” Gonzales and a Mr. Durán contacted and met with Suely in the cafe that today is “Pascana” (Plaza 24 September) at 10:00 am and asked for money to say what happened to Leslie, and that I firmly desist because she was a witness in the torturers' trial, or to testify on their behalf. They asked for $ 12,000 and said they had information and contacts.
8. Those directly responsible for this human baseness and governmental aberration are the military: President, ministers, regimental commanders (Rangers-Montero, Bolívar-Viacha), officers and NCOs: Hugo Bánzer, Andrés Selich Shopp, Mario Adett Zamora, Officer Reque Terán, Rafael Loayza Villegas, Mario Mena, Arturo Doria Medina, Raúl Álvarez Peñaranda, Juan Ayoroa, Carlos Alcoreza, Luís Gonzales Avendaño, Walter Castro Avendaño, Guido Benavídez, others. Civilians: Mario Gutiérrez, Alfredo Arce Carpio, Sergio Leigue Suarez (ministers), Widen Razuk (Prefect). Policemen: Alfredo Pinto. Nazis: Klaus Barbie and the "Bride and Groom of Death."
9. Others who should be tried are the paramilitaries, bodyguards, chiefs of the police station, snitches or “strips”, torturers instructed by “Novios de la Muerte” (ex-Nazis) who used to meet at the “Bavaria” bar in Santa Cruz: Carlos Valverde B, Widen Razuk, Pedro Percy “Paye” Gonzales Monasterio and Ernesto Morant Lijerón (El Pari Police Station chiefs), Jorge Chávez, Addy Curi, Freddy Mercado, Professor N. Paniagua, Hernán “Negro” Cronembold Parada, N Leigue Gutiérrez, Mario Fernández, Flores Salvador brothers, Hugo and Guillermo Menacho Carrillo, Oswaldo Parada, Oscar Román Vaca, Freddy Terrazas (doctor who shot patients), Juan Antonio Elío, Pedro Rivera (MNR chief), Arnoldo Justiniano, Carlos “Michi” Correa Villarroel (bully in Montero), Guido and Gary Alarcón, Jorge “Coco” Balvián, “Danger” Salamanca, Daniel “Damy” Accounts Valenzuela, “Papi” Alvarez, Ernesto Limpias, others.
10. Conclusions?
a) The Nazi-leaning military (Bánzer, Selich, and their accomplices) boasted of their cruelty and are unpunished. Many of them want to eliminate all traces of crime, and erase those facts from the collective memory. Leslie does not exist in history. It is time to claim her as a person, journalist and mother. If the 4 organs of the State do nothing, here we will take care of it.
b) The massive rape of Leslie (100 soldiers) in the 8th Army Division is responsible for: Military officers, commanders, chiefs of staff, non-commissioned officers. Each with a first and last name. This must be investigated, judged and established relevant responsibility.
c) Some repressors are still alive. This is the case of Pedro Percy “Paye” Gonzales Monasterio, an expert in “dirty work” and in delaying judicial proceedings, a friend of Alberto Guzmán Méndez and other judges. He lives near the CIDOB building in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
d) What should the 4 organs of the State do? Legislative: Monitor compliance with Law 2640 on Comprehensive Compensation through its Human Rights committees. Executive-Government: Comply with the compensation to 8,000 victims of dictatorships through the Ministry of (in) Justice. Judicial and Prosecutor's Office: Take initiatives and initiate criminal proceedings (and Repetition). Electoral: Rescue the contribution of victims to democracy and promote social awareness through SIFDE.
